Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services 20th anniversary

Festivities were held at CFB Bagotville on September 22nd to mark the 20th anniversary of Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services ( CFMWS).

In the spirit of CFMWS’s mandate, the PSP team started the day with a race, which was attended by several hundred members of the Bagotville military community.

This race was the perfect opportunity for the PSP team to promote a healthy lifestyle by encouraging mem- bers to participate in physical activity.

A five and a ten kilometer course, along with a 30km relay race took place in the morning along the cadet camp road. All participants in the race were able to enjoy a refueling station offering healthy snacks including very popular smoothies. Snacks were provided free of charge thanks to the Canex and PSP team.

The 20th anniversary festivities continued with a hot dog lunch and grilled zucchini graciously offered to all members of the Base. Two beautiful cakes were presented to celebrate the 20th anniversary of CFMWS and the 48th anniversary of the CANEX. They were eaten with enthusiasm along with an amazing assortment of tarts.

Several kiosks were also on site to provide services and products: OK Tire, Cycle Sport Expert and even Maraicher Baie Lactee of La Baie. An assortment of fresh food was available for the crowd to purchase.
