The best airshow ever

The commander of 3 Wing and CFB Bagotville, Colonel Darcy Molstad, is confident that the SAIB 2017 team responded to his request by preparing the best air show ever in Bagotville.

"It's always hard to reinvent yourself. As the president of the event, I told them I wanted to be imaginative, "Colonel Molstad said in an interview with the Vortex two weeks before the start of the 2017 edition of the Bagotville International Air Show.

The Colonel recalled that the work undertaken two years ago in order to have the Bagotville air show recognized as a military activity gave a new lease of life to the SAIB. Colonel Molstad also boasts the green side of the SAIB which is a distinctive feature of Bagotville. "I do not think there are any other air shows going as far as we are at the environmental level. We really stand out by offsetting greenhouse gas emissions. We will be carbon neutral, it's unique in Canada and maybe even in North America, "he says proudly.

Asked about the future of the SAIB, Colonel Molstad is optimistic. "I am confident for the future of the Bagotville air show. It's important, it puts Bagotville on the map. I will strongly recommend my successor to make another one, "says the colonel.

The president acknowledged that the air show required a lot of effort, but he was convinced that all this work was worth it. It must be said that, in addition to the important spin- offs for the region, the show also makes it possible to support the quality of life of the members thanks to the funds raised.
