MFRC Launches “Give It a Rest Program”

-

From now on, military families have access to the "Give It a Rest Program", a pilot project unique to the Bagotville MFRC that offers multiservice support adapted to military spouses who might be experiencing more difficult times.

Living a military lifestyle isn’t always the most restful situation. Military spouses must frequently put their needs on the back burner to answer those of their family and thus ensure that operational activities are upheld. Challenges encountered might very often contribute to the development of stress, fatigue and even lead to physical and emotional exhaustion. Therefore, the MFRC, through its "Give It a Rest Program", has organized a whole range of support services to respond to military family reality and help them to face daily challenges, but also allow them to have some well- deserved time to relax and rejuvenate to prevent burn- out. So, besides childcare periods offered free of charge by a Rescue Nanny at the MFRC’s Respite Daycare or at home, it is possible for a family caregiver who is caring for a sick loved one to get respite at their residence. Help with housework is also accessible through gional organizations. re- Families who take part in the program may also be directed towards regional corporate partners that offer, for example, transportation services, grocery delivery, help with meal preparation, etc., commensurate to their needs. According to their financial situation and the assessment of our social workers, the MFRC might― according to circumstances― grant financial support to use these services. Since the search for health care is one of the main concerns of military families, a health support agent’s position was also created to accompany all military families provisionally in their search, in addition to helping them to get acquainted with the regional health- care system. The Bagotville MFRC is continually searching for ways to support military families through their various daily challenges. For any question or request connected to the "Give It a Rest Program", please call the MFRC by dialing 418 677- 7468. You will immediately be led to a member of our team who will know how to accompany you according to your need.
