Hi­ver­nades was a great suc­cess

On Fe­brua­ry 15th, more than 600 people par­ti­ci­pa­ted in the 2018 edi­tion of the Hi­ver­nades held at CFB Ba­got­ville. More than 850 came for tour­tiere ( meat pie) din­ner la­ter on in the day, in han­gar 3. PSP Re­crea­tion Ma­na­ger Claire Du­schènes was ve­ry hap­py with the le­vel of par­ti­ci­pa­tion. Ms. Des­chênes gives all the cre­dit for this large suc­cess to the or­ga­ni­zing com­mit­tee who went above and beyond to pre­pare for this event. The Hi­ver­nades ac­ti­vi­ties be­gan ear­ly in the week with the snow sculp­ture com­pe­ti­tion, which al­lo­wed the va­rious units to show­case their ta­lent and set the scene for Thurs­day's whole day of ac­ti­vi­ties. Af­ter the friend­ly com­pe­ti­tions held in the mor­ning, the tour­tiere din­ner was held in the hanger, af­ter­wards the ban­ners were pre­sen­ted, the beard and po­ny­tail com­pe­ti­tion was held and va­rious prizes were won by se­ve­ral ge­ne­rous part­ners such as: CA­NEX, SISIP, The Per­so­nal, the Caisse Des­jar­dins des mi­li­taires, Ok Pneu, Sport Cycle Ex­pert and Hyun­dai of the King­dom. Du­ring the din­ner, LCol Ch­ris­tian Cor­neau, Ge­ne­ral Ma­na­ger of the Ba­got­ville In­ter­na­tio­nal Air Show ( SAIB) spoke to re­mind the au­dience that the air show's pri­ma­ry goal is to raise funds to sup­port the well­being of mem­bers of the Ba­got­ville mi­li­ta­ry com­mu­ni­ty.
