Un automne bien rempli en vue
Bonjour à tous et à toutes!
What a fantastic summer! I certainly hope that many of you were able to spend some time relaxing during the wonderful weather that we experienced throughout much of the summer months. My family and I certainly tried to make the most out of every day. However, now that September has arrived, the pace of life for everyone is going to pick up. For those of us with kids, school has started and another season of children's sports is about to begin. Not only will our families be keeping us busy this fall, but now that the summer leave period is over across the Air Force, the pace at work will also begin to increase.
Pour vous tous et toutes qui êtes nouveaux à la BFC Bagotville cette année, j'espère que vous pourrez vraiment réussir à vous installer en septembre. Si vous n’avez pas encore visité le CRFM et le personnel PSP, je vous invite à le faire, car ils ont plusieurs beaux programmes à vous offrir. Je suis convaincu que grâce à leurs programmes et à leur assistance, ils vous aideront à tomber amoureux de Bagotville. Nous sommes une communauté très proche et nous sommes tous et toutes ici les uns pour les autres.
I know that the pace of operations seems to get busier every year and this year is no different. 425 Sqn is already well- established in Romania supporting the people of Romania in an air policing role. 439 Sqn is the lead combat support squadron in the training of Medical Technicians who will soon be replacing the SAR Techs at all of our CS Sqn. 433 Sqn is maintaining the NORAD Alert and will deploying in the late fall to the southern US for a Force Generation exercise.
Ce ne sont pas seulement nos escadrons de vol qui sont occupés. Le personnel des unités de soutien, unités hébergées, ainsi que notre personnel civil sont tout aussi occupés. Ils apportent tous un soutien aux autres membres de la base et forment leur personnel. Ces unités sont essentielles aux opérations et nous avons la chance d’avoir une équipe formidable à la BFC Bagotville.
Although the pace has quickened again, it doesn't necessarily mean that we have any more people to do the work. I recognize this and I for one am not a person who subscribes to the motto of "do more with less". We must continue to work hard to meet our operational and training mandates, but please do not cut corners to do so. There are only so many hours in the day and sometimes all of the work cannot be accomplished. Most importantly, please continue to seek a healthy work/ life balance. That will keep you happy and healthy; two things that are essential!
En conclusion, je voudrais encore souhaiter la bienvenue à tous et à toutes, anciens et nouveaux, pour ce temps où le rythme des opérations semble être devenu la "norme" lors des opérations d'automne. Je vous demande à tous et à toutes de faire de votre mieux, mais aussi de reconnaître et d'identifier les moments où tout ne peut pas être accompli. S'il vous plaît, donnez un coup de main à ceux qui en ont besoin et assurez- vous de prendre soin de vos familles!
