35 years to serve Bagotville community

Le Vortex de Bagotville - - MOT COMMANDANT -

When he accepted a parttime student job as a gas station attendant at the CFB Bagotville station in 1983, Patrick Brassard was far from suspecting that he would still be employed by Canex 35 years later.

Upon completion of his training, Mr. Brassard obtained a job with the NonPublic Funds accounting department, where he was responsible of accounting for Canex. In 1994, Mr. Brassard accepted a supervisory position at Canex in Bagotville. He will become the manager in 1998, while the management of the trade is entirely transferred to civilians. "The years passed very quickly. What I like is serving the people of Bagotville, "explains Mr. Brassard, adding that he still loves his job. As for retirement, he is not considering it yet, recalling that he started working for Canex at a young age. "I'm still young, I'm only 54 years old. Retirement will certainly not be until 60 years old. I still get up every morning with the taste of coming to work. I'm happy to do what I do and that's the main thing, "concludes the one who received this summer a certificate celebrating his 35 years of service with the Canadian Forces Moral and Welfare Services.
