A new course tested by 2 Wing
2 Air Expeditionary Squadron ( 2AES) conducted the Airfield Activation Surge Team ( AFAST) reconnaissance course from September 24th to October 5th. A total of 14 members from 2 Wing Bagotville and Trenton were fortunate to participate in this training activity.
This course, which was developed by 2 AES’S training team, was tested this year as a pilot project to make it a national qualification. It will be used to ensure that members of 2 Wing and, and in the future, the Royal Canadian Air Force ( RCAF) are always ready to deploy quickly to perform reconnaissance of potential sites for the projection of Canada's air power. Participants benefited from the expertise of 2 AES observers to coach them throughout the training. These experienced members came from a range of different military trades within the forces who specialize in the study of Canadian air expeditionary doctrine and they ensured its implementation during training.
