The first mural completed

In November's edition of the Vortex, we introduced you to two workers from the La Baie Youth Center as they prepared the walls of the Base Medical Clinic for a type of wall mural called a fresco. This project came to life just a few days after the newspaper was published.

Three young people joined the two La Baie Youth House workers to offer this mural to the Bagotville Medical Clinic’s Department of Mental Health. The Youth House team brought new life to the mental health department by painting a flight of colorful bustards on the concrete wall using the fresco technique. This work, which is the first part of a larger project that will include three murals, allows young people to be involved in the community by accomplishing a project that has a direct impact on the lives of the members of the military base. The completion of the two other projects is planned for the spring and summer of 2019.
