Christmas Dinner for families
On Saturday December 15th, a Christmas dinner for the families of the deployed members was held. This activity is organized each year by the chaplaincy team and members of the two Christian communities at the base: the Ste- Thérèse Catholic Church and Emmanuel Protestant Chapel.
In all, 86 people including 21 children participated in the activity. The buffet consisted of a French onion soup followed by a LacSaint- Jean tourtière along with lasagna and a cake for dessert. During the evening, Capt Gérald Morissette played pan flutes as his friend Claude Doré played piano; their talent and entertainment delighted the crowd. Team games were led by Padre Moisan and Aviator Maltese while Padre Morrissette coached the crowd into singing. Gifts were distributed to children ages 2 to 14, courtesy of the Canex. Prizes were also offered to teams based on their score in the games. The money funding these awards and the activities came from various sources such as the Friends of the Air Force fund and the Christian communities. Padre Alberto thanked all the participants and all those who helped in the preparation and the smooth running of this activity.
