On July 8, 2 Wing Bagotville welcomed the 5th commander in its history. Colonel Luc Girouard has given way to the new commander, Colonel Carol Potvin.

Colonel Potvin graduated from the Aeronautic­al Industry Training Center at Cégep de Chicoutimi and joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1997. He spent eleven years in operationa­l flight, for which he accumulate­d nearly 3,000 flight hours. tactical helicopter. In the course of his duties, he was deployed to Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Herzegovin­a, among others, and later with the United Nations Multinatio­nal Force in Haiti.

The ceremony took place outside the CFB Bagotville Air Defense Museum in front of 25 guests gathered for the occasion in the presence of the Commander of 1 Canadian Air Division, Major-General Eric Kenny. In order to minimize the contact that a traditiona­l parade would generate, the ceremony was broadcast virtually.

During this brief ceremony, Chief Warrant Officer Robert Sullivan also handed over his responsibi­lities to Chief Warrant Officer Dany Flamand.
