Le Vortex de Bagotville

Two local ideas retained by Qulliq Plan

-

Two soldiers from 3 Wing had their idea selected at the end of 2021 as part of the Qulliq plan. This initiative launched a little over a year ago by the Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force aims to harmonize the resources of the RCAF to increase its operational value.

Concretely, members of all ranks are invited, via a web platform, to submit ideas that can be applied to the work and organization of the Royal Canadian Air Force according to the proposed themes. Ideas are considered on their own merit regardless of the rank or function of the person proposing them.

The two projects selected in Bagotville were submitted by Sergeant Alexandre Auger and Cpl David Sheehy and both aim to improve the environmental record of the RCAF. As part of this theme launched in the fall of 2021, three projects were selected by the jury to be presented to the Commander of the ARC.

The ideas presented by Sgt Auger and Cpl Sheehy both received approval from Lt. Gen. Meinzinger following their presentation and will be developed over the coming months.

Sergeant Auger's idea concerns the establishment of a policy regarding the charging of personal electric vehicles of members of the RCAF.

For his part, Cpl Sheehy suggested the establishment of a centralized system for managing, ordering and sharing the many petroleum products, oils and lubricants, as well as their derivatives.

Cpl Sheehy is aware that implementing his idea will likely take time as there are many standards to consider. It is possible to access the Qulliq collaborative platform via the Intranet site.
