Isabelle Thibeault new honorary colonel of 2 MSS

-

Originally from La Baie in Saguenay, Ms. Isabelle Thibeault was recently named honorary colonel of 2 MSS, a squadron that is part of 2 Wing. She is the very first woman to hold this position within the Wing.

Considered a pioneer in the field of advanced nursing practice in Quebec, Isabelle Thibeault said she was honored by this new shift in her professional life.

“The first step is to integrate myself well and above all to familiarize myself with the functioning of the squadron. I intend to develop ideas, of course! Above all, I want to get involved in the activities of the squadron and feel that I am fully part of the team. Besides, I signed up for the ice hockey team to which I intend to contribute. It is therefore another part of her professional life that the career nurse is about to begin.

Inspired by the uniform and the sense of duty for her new military responsibilities, the honorary colonel even said she was ready to be deployed, if the need arose. Its proximity to vulnerable clienteles could become its hobbyhorse when it comes to supporting deployed troops. “I could certainly get involved with regard to the mental health needs expressed within the squadron. I have developed expertise in this specific area and it seems completely natural to me to make my contribution to it,” she said.

Honorary Colonel Isabelle Thibeault is particularly proud to represent the Air Force once again since she had already taken her first steps there as an Air Cadet. “It is both a great pleasure and a great responsibility to wear the colors of the Air Force as an honorary colonel. I know what the rank represents and it is in this sense that I will do everything in my power to give back to the organization,” she concludes.
