Thank you to all Bagotville Volunteers
On March 23, CFB Bagotville returned to tradition by holding a volunteer recognition evening for 2021. The event took the form of a dinner-show that took place at the Barn with the group So Much Swing.
This evening made it possible to recognize the volunteers of the whole community in the various activities of the PSP, the MFRC, the charity fund and the various events held during the year.
The volunteers came from different organizations such as clubs, sports teams, the basket of happiness, messes and the museum.
Manon Barbeau, of CANEX, who presented the recognition activity, mentioned that CANEX Bagotville is the only store to have used its entire budget to support local activities over the past year. According to her, this proves that the people of Bagotville have been able to adapt to the pandemic and offer activities while respecting sanitary measures.
The CANEX store, in addition to allowing the volunteer recognition evening, has, among other things, financially supported the holding of the Army Run, the Hivernades and Women's Day.
Even though the recognition evening had to be held with far fewer guests than in the past, it was still a success. The participants were happy to gather and share a good meal to the rhythm of the music.
Present at this evening, the Commandant of CFB Bagotville, Colonel Normand Gagné, underlined the importance of all those involved in the organization of activities and events in Bagotville. "All of this would not be possible without the participation of volunteers," he said. "A big thank you to all those who gave their time to promote the activities throughout 2021."
