Hoping FOR A HOME

MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

Magic is an older gentleman — around 13 years old. His previous owner moved into senior housing and had to make the difficult choice of finding him a new home. Magic has been loved and well taken care of his entire life and it shows.

He is a very affection boy and loves to be hugged. He gets along great with other dogs, cats, likes children and loves women. He doesn’t mind men either but he definitely bonds faster with women. He can be a bit of a fussy eater (he has acquired tastes!) and loves to “chat,” especially if he thinks you aren’t paying enough attention to you. He loves to go for car rides and is completely housetrained. He can get a bit stiff sometimes so his playtime is limited but he is a pretty fun guy for an older fellow.

You’ll find that he’s a very sweet boy that is hard to resist. Please call 403-3593139 for more info or visit www.windycityrescue.com.

Beth is a petite, elegant young lady, about two years old. She has definite likes and dislikes. She likes other cats and makes friends easily. She likes to play with toys, to nap in the sun, and to chase bugs. She also enjoys a nice scratch and loves canned food and “people” food. Beth doesn’t like to be picked up and won’t tolerate being held or carried. She takes a long time to settle in, and doesn’t give trust readily. Beth is presently in foster care, but if you’d like to meet her, give Kerry a call at 403-308-4262.

If you are interested in meeting Beth, you can visit her at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

Very easy to love. That’s how Kichi’s foster-guardian describes this energetic tortoiseshell girl, not quite 10 months old. Kichi is all about being with other living creatures, be they human, cat or dog. Yes, she’s an animallover, this one. She currently resides with some dogs, and enjoys their company — especially their wagging tails. As for cats, Kichi would love a feline playmate. And for people she keeps a special affection. She follows them about the house, just to be with them. Even inanimate objects find favour with this happy girl. She enjoys her scratching post and cat-furniture, finding all sorts of ways to play with them. The cursor on a computer is always fun to follow, and when it’s time for sleep, she shows a warm fuzziness for her very own cat-bed, kneading it to let everyone know how pleased she is with life in general. That’s Kichi, cheerful and optimistic. What is she optimistic about? That this week is when she finds her permanent home. Come and meet her at the down-town Homes Alive today, between noon and three o’clock. Or contact the PAW Society at 403-328-6700, email pawsociety@shaw.ca or fill out an online inquiry at www.pawsociety.com. When you meet this glad little cat, you’ll be smiling, too.

Poor Harry was dumped off at a farm. He is a shorhaired, friendly, little guy approximately two years old. He is very unique looking with his dark ears and tail. Harry is very affectionate and would love to finally find his furever home. Call Linda (403-381-9269) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information about Harry. We would like to thank the wonderful, generous individuals who donated to pay Artax’s bill. Words cannot express our gratitude. We would also like to thank Dr. Jacob, his team of vets and the caring staff at Family Pet Hospital for everything they did to help Artax. Artax is recovering nicely. He will be vaccinated, neutered and put up for adoption once he is fully healed.

Parker is a handsome fellow. He is about 10 years old and is diabetic. He needs his insulin at regular times two times a day, otherwise he is in excellent health. Parker would do well as the only cat or with another diabetic cat so that his food intake is controlled. You can meet him by contacting us at the Last Chance Cat Ranch or messaging us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ lastchancecatranch. Our next monthly bottle drive will be on April 2. We are also having a Spring Garage Sale at Save On Foods in April. Items can be dropped off April 5 and 6 at the Save On Warehouse area on the northside. The sale will be taking place April 7-9. Follow us on Facebook for more information. If you would like to meet some of our cats, please message us at thelccr@gmail.com or on Facebook.
