Four people are facing drug-related charges following an ALERT bust in Lethbridge on Monday that netted $55,000 in drugs, and a vehicle.

ALERT’s organized crime and gang team, with the assistance of Lethbridge Police and the RCMP, intercepted a vehicle loaded with drugs en route to the city and searched a local home.

A Nissan Rogue, driven by 38-year-old James Shaw, was stopped just west of the city on Highway 3. ALERT alleges that the vehicle was being used to courier drugs from Calgary to Lethbridge.

Following the traffic stop, a home in the 1600 block of St. George Road North was searched and additional drugs were seized.

Three women and one man were arrested and face a total of 15 drug-related charges: Shaw, 38, of Lethbridge; Jadeyn Van Robaeys, 20, of Shaughnessy; Sharon Voyko, 25, of Lethbridge; and Katlyn Miller, 22, of Penticton, B.C.

The estimated $55,000 total in drugs seized from the vehicle and home include: 261 grams of methamphetamine; 57 grams of cocaine; 1.6 kilograms of marijuana; 76 grams of cannabis resin; 15 grams of psilocybin mushrooms; nine grams of heroin; and $2,555 cash proceeds of crime.

The Nissan Rogue will be referred to civil forfeiture.

Shaw, Van Robaeys, and Voyko were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Lethbridge provincial court on March 10. Miller was released on a promise to appear in court on April 14.

Last week, ALERT made a record drug bust in Lethbridge, seizing more than $1.2 million in drugs, firearms, and proceeds of crime from a vehicle and four homes.

Drew Boake, 27, Alexandre Herbert, 29, and Katlyn Robinson, 23, were all charged with multiple drugrelated offences.
