Eagles rally for win

Juliana Middell scored 25 points and Immanuel Christian Eagles rallied from a two-point deficit at half to slip past the Stirling Lakers 71-63 in Deep South Basketball Conference girls play Wednesday night.

Kristen Barwegan and Britney Veldman added 11 and 10 points respective­ly for the winners, who trailed 3533 at the break.

Savannah McKee scored 22 points to lead Stirling while Amy Mazutenic and Sadie Nelson both scored 19.

In the junior varsity game, Nelson scored 19 as Stirling earned a 57-50 victory. McKee had 14 points and Gracie Nelson added 10.

Britney VandeMunt scored 20 to lead Immanuel Christian and Jenna Aleman added 14.

In another game, Nicole Elaschuk and Vanessa Boone scored 19 and 17 points respecitve­ly to lead Picture Butte Sugar Queens to an 8737 victory over Willow Creek.

Emily Chartrand scored 14 in the loss.

In the JV game, Taia Middleton scored 20 points and Jayme Velthius had 18 as Pincher Creek scored a 77-34 decision. Kelby Keeley scored 14 for Willow Creek and Chartrand added 13.

In boys’ play, Andrew Thompson scored 21 points as Kate Andrews Pride of Coaldale dropped F.P. Walshe of Fort Macleod 98-41. Colter Pavka had 19 points and Laine Wilson added 17 for the winners.

Josh Marsh and Ben Craig scored 14 and 13 points respective­ly for F.P. Walshe.

In the junior game, Craig scored 33 points and F.P. Walshe stormed back from an 11-point deficit at half to top Kate Andrews Pride 8072. Darian Atwood added 16 points and Diego Heredia scored 11.

Brandon Hall, with 17, Tomas Ota with 16, and Kian Lucerna at 14 points paced the Pride.
