- Delon Shurtz LETHBRIDGE HERALD

A 24-year-old Lethbridge man facing charges in connection with an assault several days ago made his first appearance in court Friday.

Cee Cee Junior Across The Mountain, who is charged with aggravated assault and robbery, appeared by closed-circuit TV from the Lethbridge Correctional Centre where he has been remanded since shortly after his arrest Tuesday.

The Crown, which is opposed to Across The Mountain’s release, was granted time to prepare for a bail hearing, and the matter was adjourned to Thursday when the accused’s lawyer will be available.

Just before 5 a.m. Tuesday an injured 49-year-old man was found in a parking lot in the 1000 block of 3 Avenue North. He was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries where he had been listed in serious but stable condition.

Police said the man had been walking in an alley near 4 Avenue and Stafford Drive North when he was approached by a group of people, then assaulted. Police arrested another man a short time later.
