LCI Rams edge Comets 129-128

LCI Rams edged the host Raymond Comets 129-128 in a Southern Alberta 4A Boys Basketball League barn-burner on Friday night.

Charlie Day Chief and Jordan Jacobs both hit for 36 points for the Rams, who trailed 73-67 at the half. Tanner McLachlan was next with 21 points, followed by John Evans with 13.

Brock Dewsbery scored a game-high 42 points in a losing cause while Boomer Heggie hit for 29 points and Chase Bohne added 25. Spencer Roberts also reached double digits with 17 points.

In junior varsity action, LCI held off Raymond 86-85 as Zach Jacobs tossed in 27 points, followed by Brandon Laycock with 15 and Will Boehme and Isaiah Bagnah with 10 apiece.

Parker Graves replied with 23 points for Raymond while Adam Burton was next with 21, followed by Brim West and Clayton Russell with 14 apiece.

Magrath Zeniths defeated the Medicine Hat High Mohawks 80-75 as Taylor Cook hit for 29 points while Brady Tollestrup had 15, Paycen Blackmore 14 and Mason Stock 13.

Matt Manas replied with 30 points for the Mohawks.

In the JV contest, Magrath defeated the Hat 67-55 as Taylor Harker and Austin Wocknitz scored 14 points apiece and Levi Steed added 12. Jaxon May led the Hat with 15 points.

Winston Churchill Bulldogs topped the Chinook Coyotes 56-34 as Brandon Anderson hit for 17 points, followed by Isaac Greenwood and Caleb Kadijk with 14 each and Dorian Bertram with 12.

Liam Doyle led Chinook with 13 points while Nolan Court scored 11 points and Boe Clarkson added 10.

Churchill rallied from a 58-32 halftime deficit to defeat Chinook 95-90 in the JV game as Connor Hellofs dropped in 39 points and Rueben Roth added 21, followed by Cian Callao with 12. Doyle replied with 34 points for the Coyotes and Boe Clarkson added 21 while Khushal Khan and Haroon Ahmed scored 14 and 13 respective­ly.
