Clippers wrap up undefeated regular season

LCI Clippers finished the Southern Alberta Girls Basketball League regular season undefeated, but it wasn’t easy.

Clippers held off host Taber W.R. Myers Rebels 8480 in double overtime to cap off the regular season at 11-0. Jacelyn Neilson led the Clippers with 21 points, followed by Jessica Zarowny with 19 and Catriona Smith with 13.

Natalie Hoyt and Millay Johnson replied with 23 and 22 points respective­ly for the Rebels and Kitawna Sparks added 11.

LCI defeated Myers 71-42 in the junior varsity game as Krista Nelson hit for 31 points and Abbie Hall and Avery Edwards added 14 and 12 respective­ly. Dani Wright and Sayaka Suzuki replied with eight apiece for Myers.

There were three other girls games Friday night with two more slated for today.

The Medicine Hat Kwahommies are at Catholic Central to take on the Cougars at the east campus, while the Magrath Pandas visit Winston Churchill to face the Griffins.

For both games, the junior varsity games are at 1 p.m. with the varsity game
