Woods Homes is a place where atrisk youth and their families, no matter the difficulty, can turn for help. They are looking towards future funding initiative­s and for individual­s with new ideas and energy to expand fund developmen­t in southern Alberta by participat­ing in their Funds Developmen­t Committee. They are hosting their 13th annual children’s benefit dinner on Saturday, May 6 and would welcome your help in making it the best event possible. Volunteers may also assist in acquiring auction items in the community for the benefit. If you have a passion for the support of children, youth and families during difficult times and are open to bringing contacts to expand fundraisin­g capacity, this would be an ideal opportunit­y for you. VOLUNTEER LETHBRIDGE – SUMMER COLOUR FUN RUN VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer Lethbridge is partnering with the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union to host their annual Summer Colour Fun Run on Sunday, April 9 at the Grove on the University of Lethbridge campus. They are looking for volunteers to assist with all event-related tasks but in particular, volunteers that have flag training to direct participan­ts on the route. Volunteers will have the most colourful experience of their life, enjoy a snack and are invited to attend the post-event party. GREEN ACRES FOUNDATION – FRIEND TO A SENIOR VOLUNTEER

Blue Sky Lodge has a resident that would like to spend one-on-one time

with a friend. The resident loves to quilt, crochet, and knit and often needs help with technology. The resident would like to teach someone how to quilt, crochet or knit. CKXU RADIO SOCIETY – FUNDRIVE EVENT VOLUNTEERS

FUNdrive is CKXU’s annual week-long fundraisin­g and community outreach event that runs from March 17 through to March 24. This year’s theme, “More Than Radio,” celebrates the ways that CKXU builds community and community builds CKXU. There will be a number of volunteer-run events throughout the FUNdrive week, each with a different theme and focus. There will be a variety of event-based roles (daytime and evening), an opportunit­y to contribute some homemade cupcakes for a bake sale and more! Another super important role will be volunteers to monitor the pledge phone lines at the CKXU office (at the University of Lethbridge). CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY AB/NWT DIVISION – RELAY FOR LIFE COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS

The Canadian Cancer Society is seeking enthusiast­ic committee volunteers to lead event planning and implementa­tion of their Relay For Life event in Lethbridge! Committee volunteers will collaborat­e with Society staff and community members to raise awareness and funds for the fight against all cancers! Positions may include: Food and Beverage Lead, Team Recruitmen­t Lead, Community Event Logistics Lead, Activities and Entertainm­ent Lead or Survivors Recruitmen­t Lead. Committee members responsibi­lities will include, participat­ing actively in all committee meetings (once or twice a month), keeping fellow committee members informed of progress and issues that arise, work together as a team to problem solve and support the collective effort. Screening for this role involves providing a resume, an over the phone or in-person interview and reference checks. UNITED WAY OF LETHBRIDGE – RAFFLE TICKET SALES LETHBRIDGE HURRICANES VOLUNTEERS

The United Way of Lethbridge will be at each home game of the Lethbridge Hurricanes’ 2017 season in March to raffle off a limited edition 30th Anniversar­y jacket. Volunteers in teams of two will sell raffle tickets on the concourse and in the stands. Some stairs may be involved and volunteers should be comfortabl­e standing and walking during portions of the game. Volunteers who are experience­d with active sales and comfortabl­e handling cash are encouraged. Volunteer admission to the game is covered and you will have the opportunit­y to watch the game inbetween. WEST WIND GYMNASTICS – FUNDRAISIN­G COMMITTEE MEMBERS

West Wind Gymnastic Club is a notfor-profit organizati­on which has been a part of Lethbridge for 40 years. They offer youth ages 0-18 a place to learn and grow their gymnastics skills. They recently began offering drop-in and programs for adults as well. This year, they hope to hold a book sale, a fundraisin­g breakfast and a Christmas sale and would appreciate your energy and creativity on their Fundraisin­g Committee.
