Foreigner to play Enmax Centre

After 40 years, a chart-topping rock band that has composed many popular classic hits will make a stop in Lethbridge for its anniversar­y tour.

Foreigner, known for the hits “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero,” and “Cold As Ice,” among others, will launch its 10-city Canadian tour in Calgary on Oct. 11. They will play at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge on Sunday, Oct. 15. Tickets will go on sale this Friday.

Since the 1977 release of their first hit “Feels Like The First Time” and their self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records, Foreigner has been universall­y hailed as one of the world’s most popular rock acts with 10 multiplati­num albums, 16 Top 30 hits, and worldwide album sales exceeding 75 million.

The band is comprised of Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, sax, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums).

Along with the tour, the band is launching a 40th Anniversar­y compilatio­n CD titled “40” that features 40 hits from 40 years. A double-CD featuring 40 songs recorded between 1977 and 2017, was released last Friday, and a double-vinyl version that features 23 songs will be released on June 2.

“40” brings together the best songs from Foreigner’s nine studio albums, including all 16 of its Top 30 hits including “Urgent,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” and the worldwide #1 hit “I Want To Know What Love Is.” The album also features two new tracks recorded especially for this release, “Give My Life For Love” and a new version of “I Don’t Want To Live Without You.”
