• Recreation­al wheelchair basketball practices are held every Wednesday from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Lethbridge YMCA, 515 Stafford Drive S. Players of all abilities are welcome, disabiliti­es or not. No experience is required.

• Are you interested in writing? The River Bottom Writers invite you to join them the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:45 p.m. in the Richardson Oilseed Room at Lethbridge College for a session of informal writing practice. All genre writers are welcome. Bring pen, paper or laptop.

• YWCA Lethbridge & District’s 12th annual Turning Point Golf Classic will be held June 27 at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort. Registrati­on is $200 for individual golfers, $700 for team registrati­on. Includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch and dinner, prizes, silent auction and a chance to win $10,000 with a hole-inone. Funds raised go to YWCA Harbour House. • Volunteer Lethbridge Project Paintbrush is operating for another summer. The program organizes volunteers to paint exterior projects for seniors and people who are physically or financiall­y unable to complete the work themselves. Homeowner applicatio­ns are being accepted, and volunteers and sponsors are also needed.
