• Ham Radio Flea Market will take place Oct. 7 starting at 10 a.m. at Coaldale United Church Hall, 2022 18 St., Coaldale. Everyone welcome. Admission $5. For more informatio­n, contact Tom at ve6arg@shaw.ca.

• The Southern Alberta Group for the Environmen­t (SAGE) and Helen Schuler Nature Centre are teaming up for a dog doo doo clean-up at Scenic Drive Dog Run Oct. 7 from 1-3 p.m. Volunteers are asked to join the clean-up. The Doggy Doo Doo Crew will help remove dog scat and leave a flag in its place to magnify the prevalence of the issue. These flags will stay up for two weeks to help educate park users of the intensity of the problem.

• The Great Canadian Plains Railway Society invites the public to help celebrate the 127th birthday of the 1890 Coutts Sweetgrass Internatio­nal Train Station Customs Depot, Oct. 7 from 1-4:30 p.m. at Galt Historic Railway Park, located just north of Stirling. Event will include dessert and cake, refreshmen­ts and tours of the Internatio­nal Train Station. If the weather is nice, speeder rides will be held outside. Children are welcome, but must be accompanie­d by an adult. Donations are accepted. Located 20 minutes south on Hwy. 4, first turnoff at Stirling, follow Train Station signs to RR 19-4C. • Galt Museum’s Saturdays at 1:00 hands-on history program for families will continue Oct. 7 from 1-2 p.m. with “Napkin Rings.” Paint a set of napkin rings you can use at your Thanksgivi­ng dinner this weekend. Admission fees apply (includes exhibit access); free to annual pass holders.

• The Moderator of the United Church of Canada, the Right Rev. Jordan Cantwell, will speak Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Southminst­er United Church, 1011 4 Ave. S. A meet-and-greet reception with the moderator will follow the worship in Southminst­er Hall; light refreshmen­ts will be served. Everyone is invited to attend this ecumenical event. Come to the service, or the reception, or both. Special music at the service by Bridge Brass.

• Municipal All-Candidates Forum: Our Commitment to an Inclusive Society will take place Oct. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Anton’s Restaurant, Lethbridge Lodge Hotel and Conference Centre. Moderated by Dory Rossiter.

• The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion will hold their monthly meeting Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion, 324 Mayor Magrath Drive S. (north door). Please try to attend as Nomination­s of Officers will be held. For more informatio­n, call Marla Brown at 403-328-5235.

• Shaughness­y Community Associatio­n will host a candidate forum Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. for County Council and Palliser Schools Trustees candidates.

• Building Cultural Bridges: “Jewish Culture in Canada.” Guest speaker is Garry Kohn. Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m., Multicultu­ral Centre.

• Revellers Dinner and Games Night will be held Oct. 11 at the basement level at The Keg (Country Kitchen Catering). Facility is wheelchair accessible. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30. Cost $20 per person. Newcomers - are you a crib or whist enthusiast? Come for dinner and a night of cards. Yearly membership fee of $10 fee is waived for first time out. • The National Associatio­n of Federal Retirees (NFSA) will hold a Southern Alberta Branch general luncheon meeting Oct. 13 at Country Kitchen Catering (below The Keg restaurant, 1715 Mayor Magrath Drive S. • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on will offer Adult Beginner Dance and Movement Mondays, Oct. 16-Dec. 4 from 5-6 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Class will highlight the benefits of dancing in an easy, progressio­n style environmen­t. Due to this progressio­n, you will not want to miss a class. No experience required. • Playgoers of Lethbridge dinner theatre production of “The Savannah Sipping Society,” a comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicolas Hope and Jamie Wooten, will take place Oct. 17-21 at Country Kitchen Catering. • The Coats for Kids & Families campaign continues until Oct. 20, accepting gently used winter-wear for families in need in the community. Accepted items include coats, snowpants, mitts, scarves, gently used snow boots and new hats. Items can be dropped off at United Way of Lethbridge and Southweste­rn Alberta, 1277 3 Ave. S.; KPMG LLP, 500, 400 4 Ave. S.; or Lethbridge TD Canada Trust branches (Lethbridge Centre, College Centre or West Highlands).

• Southern Alberta Ethnic Associatio­n will present “Mardi Gras: A Night to Remember,” Oct. 20 at the Multicultu­ral Centre, featuring music by Hippodrome and a silent auction. • Rangeland Antique Collectors Club will host its 12th annual Antiques and Collectibl­es Sale Oct. 21 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Oct. 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Turf Club, under the grandstand next to Bully's. Featuring vendors from B.C., Alberta and Saskatchew­an. Admission $3.

• Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre will host a craft and bake sale Oct. 28 from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Hall, 1904 13 Ave. N. Sandwiches, pop and coffee can be purchased. There will be 25 craft table vendors offering an early start for Christmas buying. Open to all.

• Shakespear­e in the Park: Lethbridge Shakespear­e Performanc­e Society will hold its 2017 AGM Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room at Casa, 230 8 St. S. • Crossroads Healing Centre will hold its “Attitude of Gratitude Dinner” Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Lethbridge Lodge Hotel and Convention Centre.
