The Hurricanes are on the road this weekend. They travel to Edmonton to face KC Centennial Saturday, before playing Sherwood Park Sunday against the AMMHL North Division-leading NIC Squires (19-4-3).

The Canes are back home Feb. 10 when they host Edmonton CAC United Cycle.

The prior weekend the Hurricanes hosted the Lethbridge Minor Midget AAA Tournament at the ATB Centre.

The Canes placed second at the tournament, losing 3-1 to the Red Deer North Star Chiefs in the final.

Lethbridge started the weekend with a 4-0 win over the Calgary CNHA Blazers.

Sean Burns, Booth, Ian Maier and Hoffart scored goals, and Peters stopped 20 shots to earn the shutout.

The Canes skated to a scoreless tie with the Leduc Oil Kings in their second game as Peters made 22 saves.

Lethbridge then beat Edmonton KC Centennials 6-2.

Hall, Luke Preddy, Brogan Booth, Dawson Leroux, Kimmen and Weasel Head scored.

The Hurricanes earned their berth in the final and Peters earned his third shutout with a 2-0 win over the Calgary CBHA Rangers.

Weasel Head scored both Hurricanes goals.

In the final, Tonin was the Lethbridge goal scorer and Peters made 32 saves.

The Hurricanes were without goaltender Cole Tisdale for the tournament. The 15year-old goaltender was called up by the Western Hockey League’s Kelowna Rockets.
