Women should be praised for brave stand

-

The United States’ first anniversary of the unpredictable President Trump has come and gone, but it brought many marches and and protests almost worldwide, even in Canada.

Crowds assembled in many Canadian cities, and a robust group of mostly ladies walked and assembled in a very appropriate roadside location in Lethbridge also. When I heard of their gathering, I hurried as fast as a very senior, handicapped veteran can and drove to thank them! They were a very bubbly and beautiful sight, with their big signs and banners, and they succeeded in making their point, depicting their shameful still second-place standing in the workplace and society.

I wanted to stop and they wanted me to make a speech to their their timely gathering, as I normally do with my labour union-organizing past, but the traffic and the use of my fourwheeled walker was not conducive to gravel and rough ground navigation!

As was expected, a united rightwing spokeswoman has had the audacity to pipe up and criticize this dear ladies’ group for their expression of their disparaging position in society, and they should in fact be thanked and blessed for their brave stand.

I admit to being a feminist; perhaps the main reason is because I have been blessed on being born on International Women’s Day, which is March 8.

I rest my case, and once again, bless all the women of the world in their fight for equality and fairness!
