MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

This public service feature runs each Saturday in the Lethbridge Herald.

Today is our monthly bottle drive. Thank you to everyone who donated returnables. Milo says he would like to be a permanent and not a returnable himself. Has anyone been looking for this boy? If not, he is available for adoption. He is a handsome lad, gentle and loving. Please contact us at www.thelastchancecatranch.com or www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch for more information. We have some great cats and kittens available for adoption. Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts.

Sometimes, it requires more than one lucky break to find happiness. Take Kermode, for instance. Four years ago, this all-white mancat was seen wandering from door to door, from house to house, in search of someone to help him. Someone did, and Kermode was rescued. That was lucky. But since then, Kermode’s luck has been stuck. This five-year-old has everything a cat needs to be adopted: he is quiet and easy-going, making friends with dogs and cats in his foster home. He is intelligent, assessing a situation rather than simply plunging in. And he loves people. He likes to watch them, spend time with them, be a part of their lives. Kermode needs one more piece of luck to bring him home: someone to see his golden-green eyes in a photo, to hear of his gentle and sweet nature, or read of his deep desire for affection. To give Kermode his next lucky break, call the PAW Society at 403-3286700, or send an online inquiry at www.pawsociety.com. If you are lucky for Kermode, he will surely be lucky for you.

Martini came to us from Medicine Hat. She is approximately six years old and would prefer to be an only cat. She has occasional sneezing episodes and has been to the vet for a nasal flush. Her condition is not contagious and does not cause her any pain. She is so affectionate and very playful. Please consider welcoming Martini into your heart and home. Call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information about this adorable girl. We are also on Facebook. Our sweet tripod, Ron Weasley, is up for adoption at Petland. He is waiting to purr his way into someone's heart and home. We have many special needs animals who require extra medical care and/or special food. We are always in desperate need of donations to help with our account at Green Acres Animal Hospital. No amount is too small.

Hazel is a lovely long-haired calico cat who came to the Humane Society at the end of 2017. She's very timid and keeps to herself. Hazel does not want to venture out into the cat room just yet, and likes to stay in the box she's been given so that she feels secure in her kennel. She likes to be petted, but doesn't yet want to be held. If you are interested in meeting Hazel, you can visit her at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 - 16 Avenue N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Available Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

Ruby is a sweet little senior (10plus years). She’s an angel on a leash and doesn’t require much exercise but she sure loves to trot along! She is quiet in the house and her little bumper bed is her favourite sleeping spot. Ruby’s favourite treat is chicken and loves to get her chin scratched. She does fine with other dogs and cats but tends to be indifferent to them. She’ll follow you around the house and yard like a heat seeking missile. She’d love a big comfy bed and a warm place by the fire to spend her retirement years. Visit www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-359-3139 for more information.
