• Galt Museum’s Saturdays at 1:00 hands-on history program for families will continue Feb. 3 from 1-2 p.m., featuring “Traditional Blackfoot Diet and Medicine.” Come learn about the traditional Blackfoot foods and medicine, listen to stories from the Galt’s Blackfoot Cultural Interpreter Blanche Bruisedhead and decorate your own pouch to take home. Admission fees apply (includes exhibit access); free to annual pass holders. • “Ask Me About Kiwanis” will take place Feb. 3 from 10 a.m.– 3 p.m. at Park Place Shopping Centre, 501 1 Ave. S. The public is invited to meet representatives from the Kiwanis Club. Enter the free draw for children’s bicycle.
• Compassionate Friends, a non-profit international support group for parents who have had a child die, meets the first
Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.noon at McKillop United Church, 2329 15 Ave. S. (but is not affiliated with the church). Parents and their supporting family members or friends are encouraged to attend and observe or talk about their experiences — it is just parents talking to parents. The tragedy could have happened last week or 10 years ago; the child could be an infant or an adult. • Fourth annual F-Cancer fundraiser will take place Feb.
3, 9 p.m. to Feb. 4, 2 a.m. at Studio Nightclub. Proceeds of this event go toward prevention, early detection and supporting those affected by cancer. Tickets ($20) for this event are T-shirts, available in five colours, with each representing a different type of cancer. • The Blue Ridge Mountain Country

Details: 403-380-6536. • Building Cultural Bridges will hold its next weekly presentation Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Multicultural Centre, featuring the topic “North American Slavery,” with speaker Juran Greene. • Auditions for “Titanic: The Musical” will be held Feb. 5 and 6 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the LCI Choir Room. The production will feature director Fran Rude, musical director and conductor Ken Rogers and stage manager Nancy Graham. Auditions are being held for men and women of all ages over 17 years. No children are required. Be prepared to perform a vocal selection that demonstrates your vocal range. An accompanist will be provided; bring a copy of your selection for them. Some accent work will be required, and includes upper- and working-class British, and working-class Irish. • Fort Macleod 4H Beef Club Sponsorship Night will take place Feb. 6 at the Fort Macleod Community Hall, 301 25 St. Roast beef supper at 5:30 p.m. (cost by donation), silent auction throughout the evening. Fundraiser will support the club and its members’ projects throughout the year. • Lethbridge College’s Winter Open House will take place Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the college’s Centre Core, offering an opportunity for potential students to learn more about the college’s programs, student services, residences, clubs and anything else that may help their post-secondary decisionmaking process. The day will include the opportunity to speak with faculty, take campus tours and visit interactive program areas. Applications to Lethbridge College can even be done on the spot. Those who register are eligible to win a $1,500 tuition credit. annual Swap Meet Feb. 10 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Lethbridge Exhibition Park. Come check out over 400 tables of automotive items, antiques, collectibles, toys and miscellaneous items plus numerous vehicles for sale. Admission is $5 per person with those 16 and under free. • The 51st Annual Rotary Dinner Dance will be held Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Raymond Cultural Hall, 200 W and Church Avenue. Featuring the program “A Night at the Movies,” roast beef dinner, salad bar, dessert, silent auction and music by the band Hippodrome. Tickets $40 each; tables of 8, $320 or 10, $400. • Friends of the Galt will host a Friends Winter Barn Dance Feb. 10 from 7-10 p.m. at the Galt Museum and Archives, with music provided by the Great Canadian Barn Dance. The family dance will raise money for educational programs at the Galt. Western casual dress; kids are welcome. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for youth 11-17; children under 10 free.
