Three new members join Community Foundation board
Three new members have joined the board at the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.
Renee Richards, who joined the foundation’s grants committee in 2016, has studied sociology and spent 18 months as a volunteer in Namibia and South Africa. She’s also a director of the Lethbridge Skateboard Association and the YouthOne organization.
Kevin Ronan, a lawyer with Paterson and Purvis LLP, has extensive experience with nonprofit organizations. He has served as a director or executive member of such groups as the Kinsmen Club of Lethbridge, the Rotary Club of Lethbridge and the Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge.
Bob Short worked with the local branch of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind until retiring last September, and has studied communications through Mount Royal University.
“We’re very fortunate to have these three talented and knowledgeable individuals join us,” says board president Geri Hecker. “Their experience, passion and unique skillsets will help us to continue the task of seeing our communities flourish through generosity.”
Continuing board members include directors Bruce Anderson, Darren Adamson, Bjorn Berg, Barb Godkin, Ronda Reach and Laura Van Vaerenbergh, along with vicepresidents Randall Baker and Deborah Wescott and treasurer Steve Miles.
