CHBA — Lethbridge honour year’s best

Constructi­on profession­als have named Galko Homes Master Builder as the Lethbridge area’s “builder of the year.”

The award was presented last weekend, during the Canadian Home Builders’ Associatio­n — Lethbridge annual “Building the Best” awards gala. Ramton Homes was saluted as the region’s custom builder of the year.

More than 350 business owners, industry employees and special guests were on hand for the presentati­ons, as reported by the Lethbridge region of the Canadian Home Builders. Industry profession­als from across the nation are involved in evaluating all who are nominated.

“The innovation and attention to customer service, safety and community engagement (are) well worth celebratin­g,” said regional president Michael Schmidtler.

Maverick Concrete was named the year’s best trade, while All Weather Windows was named best supplier. Design awards for different categories of homes went to Avonlea, Galko, Ashcroft Master Builder, Cedar Ridge Homes, Janus Homes, Ramton Homes and Stranville Living Master Builder.

Ramton was also selected for best ensuite renovation, Raeside Constructi­on for best overall renovation and Greener Homes for the most energy efficient.

Safety awards were presented to Cedar Ridge Homes and Neu-Life Electric.

Marketing awards were earned by Ashcroft, Avonlea and Carefree Kitchens. Marilyn Eyre at Galko was honoured as the best new homes sales person.

The builders also named the northside Blackwolf neighbourh­ood as the year’s best residentia­l developmen­t, while “RiverStone Unleashed” was the top community event.
