Trial date set for man accused of sexual assault of two boys

A trial has been set for a 32-year-old Lethbridge man accused of sexually assaulting two young boys last year.

Cody Tyler Black Forehead will stand trial Dec. 3-7 in Lethbridge Court of Queen’s Bench.

The accused consented to be tried on four of five charges against him following a preliminary hearing last month in Lethbridge provincial court, and Monday in Queen’s Bench the date was confirmed for the last month of the year.

Black Forehead, who previously elected to be tried by a Court of Queen's Bench judge, was charged last May with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and one count of invitation to sexual touching. The charge of invitation to sexual touching was discharged following the preliminary hearing, leaving the accused with four charges.

On April 28, 2017, police responded to a report of a sexual assault that had occurred during the night at a man’s home.

Police said two 15-year-old boys had met up with a man one of the boys met on a social media site. The boys consumed liquor and drugs at the man’s home during the night and were sexually assaulted. A suspect was arrested without incident three days later.

Black Forehead was released from custody May 11 on $2,000 no-cash bail and conditions that he not have any contact with anyone under the age of 18 unless he’s with another adult. He’s not to log onto any social media websites for the purpose of communicating with anyone under the age of 18, and he is prohibited from consuming alcohol and non-prescribed drugs.
