• Galt Museum’s Saturday’s at 1:00 hands-on history program for families continues Feb. 17 from 1-2 p.m., featuring “Rag Dolls.” Join us in learning about the history of a beloved childhood toy, the doll, and make your own rag doll to take home with you. Admission fees apply (includes exhibit access); free to annual pass holders.

• West Wind Gymnastics Club offers drop-in fun on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. It’s a great opportunit­y to practise your gymnastic skills in a friendly, supervised environmen­t. Age 5 and under $6 and must be accompanie­d by an adult; 6 and older $12.

• 55-Plus at Via Church (formerly River of Life) welcomes all to their monthly potluck suppers on the third Saturday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at 2820 18 Ave. N. • The McNally Community Associatio­n will hold a jam session Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. at McNally Community Hall, 5 miles southeast of Lethbridge (2 miles east of airport). Cost $5 (entertaine­rs free).

• Narcotics Anonymous meets Sundays at 7 p.m. at Chinook Meeting Hall, 408 13 St. N. • The 14th annual Coaldale Community Fest will take place Feb. 19 (Family Day) with an assortment of family events throughout the day. The schedule includes: 8 a.m.-11 a.m., free pancake breakfast at Community Centre; 10 a.m.noon, crafts and helium balloons at Coaldale Mennonite Church; 10 a.m.-3 p.m., hay rides at The Hub field; 11 a.m.3 p.m., public skating, face painting, hot chocolate, coffee and donuts at the arena; noon-1 p.m., free chili lunch at the arena; free hotdog lunch at Coaldale Mennonite Church; 1-3 p.m., laser tag at Community Centre; all-ages crib tournament with prizes at Coaldale Senior Centre; 4-6 p.m., “A Goofy Movie” (1995) and snacks at the Gem of the West Museum.

• Building Cultural Bridges will hold its next weekly presentati­on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Multicultu­ral Centre, featuring the topic “Bhutan” with guest speaker Purna Adhikari.

• University of Lethbridge will present Play Day 2018 Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness. Various sporting activities such as basketball, floor hockey, swimming and fitastic play, and access to the Ascent Climbing Centre’s climbing wall will be offered. There is no charge for admission or parking and people are encouraged to bring gym shoes, comfortabl­e clothing and a swimsuit to enjoy all the activities. An added bonus for those who attend Play Day is 15 per cent off regular-priced Horns Summer Camp registrati­on fees.

• The Probus Club will hold its monthly meeting Feb. 21 at 9:30 a.m. at Country Kitchen Catering (lower level of The Keg).

Guest speaker Michael Stephens, project manager of Fortis Alberta, will share his diary notations and photos in a lecture regarding Fortis’ efforts to restore power to the town of Waterton after last year’s fire. He will also discuss Alberta’s electrical grid system and how we get power from source to the user which includes our residences. A $5 fee is required at the door. Guests are most welcome.

• Seasons Lethbridge, 1730 10 Ave. S. (across from the hospital) will hold a jam session Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

• McKillop United Church’s Justice, Peace and Social Action group will host a talk by James Daschuk, the award-winning author of “Clearing the Plains: Disease, Politics of Starvation, and the Loss of Aboriginal Life,” Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at Southminst­er United Church, 1011 4 Ave. S. Daschuk, a professor at the University of Regina, will be speaking about his research into how First Nations population­s were driven from their traditiona­l hunting grounds onto reserves in the mid-1800s, and the resulting tragedy. A time to share conversati­on and coffee will follow at 8:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The event is held in partnershi­p with Southminst­er United Church, Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs and Ecumenical Campus Ministry. • Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge will host its 5th annual “I Stand Against” event Feb. 21 from 7-9 p.m. at the Galt Museum and Archives. I Stand Against: Mental Health Stigmas tackles issues of bullying and abuse in the community. There will be over 20 organizati­on in attendance with activities including art therapy, yoga therapy, and pet therapy sessions. There will also be food and beverages along with youth and community speakers to talk about their experience with mental health.

• The Neighbourh­ood Watch Society of Lethbridge (NWSL) will hold its Annual General Meeting Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Southern Alberta Ethnic Associatio­n, 421 6 Ave. S. • The PAW Society will hold its annual pool tournament and silent auction Feb.

• Volunteer Lethbridge is accepting nomination­s for the annual Leaders of Tomorrow Awards Gala honouring outstandin­g youths in the community. The gala recognizes young people ages 5-24 for their commitment and dedication through countless volunteer hours within both Lethbridge and surroundin­g communitie­s. • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on will offer Active Aging Strength and Low-Impact Classes, Mondays and Wednesdays, March 5–

April 25 (no class April 2) from 8-8:50 a.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. These low impact classes will assist you to maintain, build and improve your balance, strength, cardiovasc­ular fitness and overall health. Fee: $75 for LSCO members, $98 for non-members.
