Can competition helps stock food bank shelves
This year’s CANstruction event collected over 24,109 pounds of food (43,000 cans) with a dollar value of approximately $60,000 in support to help those in need of food assistance in the community. The proceeds from the month-long can sculpture competition were donated to the Lethbridge Food Bank, the Interfaith Food Bank Society and Lethbridge College Food Bank to help stock the shelves and assist people in need of food assistance in Lethbridge and area. The winners of this year’s competition were: Junior Event • Most Creative- 57 Chevy Truck/ Calvin Christian School

• Most Cans Used- Delivery Truck/ Save On Foods
• People’s Choice AwardStrikeout Hunger/ Associated Engineering AB Ltd.
Photos of the winning projects will be submitted to the international CANstruction competition, where they compete with the best CANsculptures from across North America.
