The city of Lethbridge must not be such a “Small Town” after all.

That hit song is one of many from American rock legend John Mellencamp, who will visit the city for a concert at the Enmax Centre on Oct. 28, it was announced Tuesday morning.

Mellencamp, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a Grammy winner, is known for his songwriting and his catchy, populist brand of heartland rock.

He rose to fame in the 1980s with a string of Top 10 singles including “Hurts So Good,” “Jack & Diane,” “Crumblin' Down,” “Pink Houses,” “Lonely Ol' Night,” “Small Town,” “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.,” and “Authority Song.”

Mellencamp released his latest album, “Sad Clowns & Hillbillies,” in 2017 to widespread critical acclaim. He will be touring that album for more than 20 dates across Canada this fall, beginning in late September in New Brunswick.

His two most recent U.S. tours were hailed by critics and fans alike as one of Mellencamp’s most authentic and crowd-pleasing concerts of his career.

Tickets for the Oct. 28 performance in Lethbridge will be available to the public beginning Friday at 10 a.m. at

by phone at 403-329-7328, or in person at the Enmax Centre box office.
