Four from Calgary arrested in cellphone robbery
Police have made four arrests in connection to the daylight robbery of the southside Bell store on Thursday.
On Friday, police issued a news release stating four people were in custody — one adult and three minors — in connection with the incident.
Police say four males entered Bell World at 2:30 p.m. along the 3700 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South.
A male and a female employee were placed in headlocks, dragged to the back of the store and forced to open a safe.
The suspects stole dozens of high-end cellphones fled in a vehicle which was later located on Highway 519 east of Granum by RCMP. The vehicle failed to stop for police and a spike belt was deployed. The subjects were arrested without further incident and a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 73 new (in the box) cellphones.
The two employees sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated by EMS at the scene.
A 20-year-old male, 17-year-old male, and two 16year-old males remain in custody and charges are pending.

The accused remain in custody and are awaiting Judicial Interim Release hearings.
