• Interfaith Learning Garden invites the public to celebrate National Garden Day June 22 from noon-3 p.m. Free barbecue, garden activities, and a chance to learn more about the Interfaith Learning Garden and the many free activities available through Interfaith Food Bank this summer.
• Growing Abilities is a parent support and play group for children with differing abilities. It is open to parents/caregivers and their children with disabilities, as well as siblings and support staff. There will be planned activities based on children’s developmental needs, abilities and interests. There will also be open-ended activities for siblings and space for parents to connect. This group will be facilitated by an Early Childhood Educator and a Parent Educator, so one-on-one support is not available to children. Give it a try at Family Centre Downtown on Fridays from 23:30 p.m. at #225, 200 4 Ave. S. The program is free but people are asked to register by calling 403-320-4232.
• TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) ,a non-profit organization which provides support to people wanting to lose weight, meets regularly in Lethbridge and area. Details: Eileen Schmidt, 403-405-2410, or visit the website, www.tops.org.
• Celebrate Recovery — a Christ-centred recovery program for any hurt, hang-up and habit, meets Friday nights at Park Meadows Baptist Church, 2011 15 Ave. N. 6 p.m. - supper ($3); 7 p.m. - large group; 8 p.m. - open share small groups; 9 p.m. Solid Rock Cafe. • Nordbridge Bingo welcomes the public (18 and over) for a cash bingo with no surcharges Fridays at 1 p.m. (except holidays) at 1904 13 Ave. N. A regular book is $5, extra games $1 each. • Helen Schuler Nature Centre’s Junior Naturalists program for ages 6-10 continues June 23 from 10 a.m.-noon, featuring “Sunlight.” Adults must sign children in and pick them up promptly at noon. • West Wind Gymnastics Club offers drop-in fun on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to practise your gymnastic skills in a friendly, supervised environment. Age 5 and under $6 and must be accompanied by an adult; 6 and older $12.

• Are you a male caregiver looking for something to do with your children on a Saturday morning? Me and My Dad uses fun to create a healthy environment where dads come together with their children. Relationships are not only built stronger between father and child but also lifelong friendships between fathers and their children. • Galt Museum’s Indigenous History Program takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, exploring Indigenous history through story-telling and hands-on activities. Individuals and groups are welcome to attend. No registration required. Admission fees apply (free to annual pass holders).
• Tai Chi and Medical Qi Gong will be offered Saturdays, July 7 to Aug. 11, from 10-11:15 a.m. at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Learn gentle, rhythmical movements to enhance your balance, breath and that quiets the mind. • Martha Retreat Centre will celebrate 50 years in Lethbridge June 24 with Open House from 1-5 p.m. at the centre, 1130 Scenic Drive S. All are welcome to attend.

• Lethbridge and District Horticultural Society will host a presentation titled “Plants at Alberta’s Natural Springs” June 25 at 7 p.m. at the Lethbridge Public Library Theatre Gallery. The speaker is Kayleigh Nielson, a research associate at the U of L with a special interest in the rich diversity of plants found at freshwater springs across southern Alberta. The plant communities found at these springs often include both native and non-native species. This talk will explore which plant species are commonly found at springs in southern Alberta, as well as some of the environmental factors that promote the growth and establishment both native and non-native plants within these ecosystems.
• Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization will offer Women and Men Golf Lessons for Intermediate Players, Mondays, June 25, July 2, 9, 16, from 23 p.m. at Evergreen Golf Centre. • The YWCA Turning Point Golf Classic will take place June 26 at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort. Format: 18-Hole Texas Scramble with cart. 11:30 a.m. registration, lunch and warm-up; 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Featuring closest-tothe-pin, multiple hole-in-one opportunities, putting contest and grand prize draw. • Carriage House Theatre in Cardston will present its lineup of alternating summer shows, running from June 29Aug. 22. • Taber Communities in Bloom will hold the second annual Taber Yard and Garden Tour July 7 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Take a self-guided tour and enjoy a delicious lunch at Luigi’s at your leisure. Lunch tickets will be honoured until closing on July 7. Tickets are $15 (includes lunch at Luigi’s) and can be purchased at Luigi’s, Pharmasave, Johnson’s or Home Hardware.
• This summer, improve the skills you need every day and for future postsecondary classes. Lethbridge Public Library’s Read On Adult Literacy program offers ESL Conversation, Basic Computer, and Citizenship Preparation classes or oneon-one tutoring for adults. • Looking for a fun way to entertain your kids this summer? West Wind Gymnastics Club is taking registrations for summer camps. Included with the camps are gymnastics, swimming, fieldtrips, crafts, games, science and more. Your child will be kept busy from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. West Wind Gymnastics Club also offer morning or afternoon half-day camps and early and late care as needed. • The Lethbridge Association of the Blind (LAB) provides numerous activities for the blind and visually impaired in the Lethbridge area. Some of these include dinners with entertainment, attending musicals and tours of local museums. The association also runs a bowling league which takes place weekly at the Holiday Bowl. • The Chinook Society for Recovering Addicts, a not-for-profit registered society with charitable status, makes its renovated facility at 408 13 St. N. available as a meeting room space to 12-step groups as well as other groups or organizations. Each of the three available rooms includes tables, chairs, commercial coffee maker and sink. There is a centrally located locker room for group supplies as well as central men’s and women’s washrooms. The facility has central HVAC, is smoke free and wheelchair accessible.
