Store robbery suspect facing more charges

- Delon Shurtz LETHBRIDGE HERALD

A Lethbridge woman accused of robbing a city grocery store earlier this month was in Lethbridge court Tuesday, but on numerous charges unrelated to the robbery.

Constance Red Crow is charged with shoplifting, causing a disturbance, assault with a weapon, possession of identity documents, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and drug possession. Those charges were adjourned, however, to Thursday when she appears on charges of robbery, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, relating to the robbery July 18.

Police reported that shortly after 11 a.m. a woman entered the London Road Market and took several items, including a bottle of pop. When she left the store without paying, an employee confronted her and a man whom she met outside, and asked her to return the stolen items. The man punched the employee and the two began fighting until the woman smashed the glass pop bottle and used the broken end as a weapon. The suspects then fled.

The employee sustained what police described as a non-life-threatening injury to his face during the altercation. Police found the man and woman shortly afterward.

Dennis Noskey, 25, pleaded guilty last week to one count of robbery and was sentenced to 18 months in jail. The rest of his charges were withdrawn. Red Crow remains in Custody at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre and will appear by closed-circuit TV for her court hearing Thursday.
