Three people are facing a number of charges after Pincher Creek RCMP and the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Team (CRT) seized stolen property, firearms and cocaine.

RCMP said in a news release Wednesday, that they targeted and investigated activities at a rural residence believed to be involved in drug trafficking and harbouring stolen property.

“The investigation was successful, arrests were made and charges laid,” RCMP said.

On July 25, the Southern Alberta CRT took carriage of the investigation and obtained a search warrant for the residence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. RCMP say, given the inherent risks involved in executing search warrants at known residences, the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) was deployed to assist.

The following day, the search warrant was executed and three subjects were arrested without incident at the residence.

Two stolen trailers worth about $18,000 were seized, as were two firearms, evidence of drug trafficking and cocaine, RCMP say.

Dewey Todd Starzyk, 54, of Pincher Creek, is charged with breach of probation (x2), possession of prohibited ammunition while prohibited, and one charge of possession of cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

William Peter Robinson, 65, of Pincher Creek, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (x2), and possession of firearms with no valid licence.

Sandra Lynn Wilson, 56, of Pincher Creek, is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (x2), and possession of firearms with no valid licence.

Robinson and Wilson have been released for court in Provincial Court of Alberta in Pincher Creek on Sept. 11.

“Collaborating across detachments, and utilizing specialized units like the Crime Reduction Team, ERT and the Auto Theft Unit meant a prompt response to community concerns in relation to this property” said Sgt. Brad White of the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Team, in a news release.

“We know that rural residents are concerned about property crimes and we are dedicated to focus on the small number of repeat offenders committing those crimes.”
