College unveils new brand
New slogan: ‘What happens next matters most. Be Ready’
Lethbridge College began a new era on Wednesday as hundreds of students, faculty and staff assembled in the Centre Core to unveil a new brand and accompanying marketing campaign.
The multimedia and sophisticated design aspects of the brand campaign centre around the college’s new motto and slogan, “What happens next matters most. Be Ready.”
Brian Freeman, manager of marketing and web services for the college, said the slogan and campaign, featuring images of current Lethbridge College students and highlighting a strong, futurist vision, came about after a full year of research and consultations with local stakeholders.
“For us ‘What happens next matters most’ is a shared message indicating our purpose and our meaning,” Freeman told reporters at the unveiling. “We have a purpose and a role in preparing our students to achieve success, either achieving the career of their dreams or continuing on a pathway of learning.”
Lethbridge College president and CEO Paula Burns said the new brand was a chance for the college to rejuvenate and re-orient itself as an institution focused unflinchingly toward future growth.
“We are really ready for what the future is,” she said. “To be innovative, creative and be part of our community, and to just shape the future ... (This rebranding campaign) came about to really help us reflect on who we are, and what we can actually accomplish. For me definitely, it is rejuvenating and gives me more passion than I even had before. It gives us a place to step off from for the next five to 10 years.”
