Classic car show to benefit food bank

EVENT TAKES PLACE SATURDAY AT LOGIC LUMBER CAR MUSEUM

Classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods and motorcycle­s will be showcased at the 12th annual Rob Dixon Memorial Classic Car Show taking place Saturday.

The event, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and hosted by Logic Lumber, will be held at the Logic Lumber Car Museum, 214 31 St. N. Proceeds will once again benefit Interfaith Food Bank.

A variety of vehicles participat­ed in last year’s show, and this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better, with cash prizes for the winners in several categories: • Best in Show - $300 • Best Bike - $250 • Best Original Car - $250 • Best Modified Car - $250 • Best Import - $250 • Best Original Truck - $250 • Best Modified Truck - $250 Admission to the show is free for spectators. Entry fee to display a car in the show is $10. Registrati­on will take place from 8-10 a.m., or call 403-3287755.

All registered vehicles are eligible for door prizes, and Logic Lumber will be giving away an eight-by-12-foot shed built by Fox Buildings; enter as many times as you like. Each entry requires a $10 donation to Interfaith Food Bank. Raffle tickets for the shed are available ahead of the event as well, at both Logic Lumber and Interfaith Food Bank.

Spectators can also participat­e in a 50/50 draw and silent auction, or try out the food vendors that will be on site. Festivitie­s are all made possible through support of major sponsors, including Astro Insurance, Structural Truss, Formasteel, Timbertech Truss, Harris Rebar, Goodfellow and Warwick Printing.

All proceeds go to Interfaith Food Bank.
