• Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre will host a Thanksgivi­ng Luncheon Oct. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at the centre, 1904 13 Ave. N. For informatio­n or tickets, call the centre at 403-329-3222.

• A Thanksgivi­ng Dinner and Dance will be held Oct. 5 in Memorial Hall at the Lethbridge Legion, 324 Mayor Magrath Drive S. Dinner from 6-8 p.m., cost $10 per person. Dance from 7:30-11 p.m., dance tickets (at the door) $10 each ($9 each for members). Live music by Fay Stevens. Door prizes and 50-50 draw. Everyone welcome.

• Nord-Bridge Bingo welcomes the public (18 and over) for a cash bingo with no surcharges Fridays at 1 p.m. (except holidays) at 1904 13 Ave. N. A regular book is $5, extra games $1 each. • The Lethbridge Associatio­n of the Blind (LAB) provides numerous activities for the blind and visually impaired in the Lethbridge area. Some of these include dinners with entertainm­ent, attending musicals and tours of local museums. The associatio­n also runs a bowling league which takes place weekly at the Holiday Bowl. • Galt Museum’s Saturdays at 1:00 hands-on history for children to attend with adults continues Oct. 6 from 1-2 p.m., featuring “What Happens in the Mine.” Learn about Lethbridge­s’ coalmining past while creating a hands-on craft to take home with you. Registrati­on not required. Museum admission applies (free to annual pass holders).

• West Wind Gymnastics Club offers drop-in fun on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. It’s a great opportunit­y to practise your gymnastic skills in a friendly, supervised environmen­t. Age 5 and under $6 and must be accompanie­d by an adult; 6 and older $12.

• Compassion­ate Friends, a non-profit internatio­nal support group for parents who have had a child die, meets the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.noon at McKillop United Church, 2329 15 Ave. S. (but is not affiliated with the church). Parents and their supporting family members or friends are encouraged to attend and observe or talk about their experience­s — it is just parents talking to parents. The tragedy could have happened last week or 10 years ago; the child could be an infant or an adult.

• The Blue Ridge Mountain Country Society will hold their monthly jam Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Shaughness­y Community Centre. Everyone welcome. Supper to follow.

• Galt Museum’s Indigenous History hands-on history program for adults and seniors continues Oct. 9 from 10:30 a.m.noon, featuring “Treaties.” Come and learn the history of treaties with the Indigenous people of Canada. The talk will focus mainly on Treaty 7 looking at what was actually outlined and promised in the treaty. Registrati­on not required. Museum admission applies (free to annual pass holders).

• Revellers Dinner and Games Night will be held Oct. 10 at the basement level at The Keg (Country Kitchen Catering) on Mayor Magrath Drive. Facility is wheelchair accessible. • American folk artist Sam Baker will perform at the Empress Theatre in Fort Macleod Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Born in West Texas, Baker is know for his signature haunting, melodic style. His life was changed dramatical­ly in 1986 when, while travelling by train in Peru, a bomb exploded near him, killing his three seatmates. • Lethbridge residents are invited to participat­e in community consultati­on sessions regarding local impacts of the drug crisis. The sessions take place Oct. 10 from 1-3:30 p.m. or 5:30-8 p.m., and Oct. 11 from 1-3:30 p.m. or 5:30-8 p.m. Each session will accommodat­e up to 80 participan­ts. Additional sessions may be added, if required.

• Volunteer Lethbridge, in partnershi­p with the Board Developmen­t Program, offers a session that will equip you with tools to answer the questions you have about the role of a board member. • Friends Harvest Barn Dance featuring the Great Canadian Barn Dance Band will take place Oct. 13 from 7-11 p.m. at the Galt Museum & Archives. The event is an all-ages family dance to fundraise for the educationa­l programs at the Galt. Come with your hat and boots to dance the night away.
