Hurricanes vs. Broncos

The Lethbridge Hurricanes (11-8-3-2) welcome the Swift Current Broncos (419-1-1) to the ENMAX Centre tonight at 7:00pm. It will be the second of four meetings on the season between the ‘Canes and Broncos tonight.

Teddy Bear Toss:

Tonight will be the annual Teddy Bear Toss at the ENMAX Centre. Fans are encouraged to bring a plush toy, wrapped in plastic to throw onto the ice when the Hurricanes score their first goal of the game. My bet on the goal, Dylan Cozens!

Blockbuster:

What a day it was yesterday for the Hurricanes and GM Peter Anholt. The ‘Canes mastermind pulled the trigger on yet another blockbuster deal acquiring forwards Jake Leschyshyn and Nick Henry from the Regina Pats in exchange for Jadon Joseph, Ty Kolle and seven draft picks. “Lish” and “Hank” will be in the line-up tonight!

Decent Trip:

Tonight will be the first home game for the Hurricanes since a 3-2 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors two Saturday’s ago. The ‘Canes were on the road for four games last year as they posted a 2-1-1-0 record in four games with wins over Saskatoon and Brandon.

Sputtering:

After winning the WHL Championship last year, the Broncos are not having a great season this season. Swift Current enters tonight with a leagueworst 4-19-1-1 record on the season. They’re coming off a 5-1 loss to the Wheat Kings on Wednesday.
