Schei­deg­ger 0-2 at Canada Cup Fri­day

Leth­bridge’s Casey Schei­deg­ger lost a pair of games to the two fron­trun­ners to fall to 3-3 at the 2018 Home Hard­ware Canada Cup in Estevan, Sask.

Schei­deg­ger and her Leth­bridge Curl­ing Club rink of third Cary-Ane McTag­gart, sec­ond Jessie Haugh­ian and lead Kristie Moore were de­feated 8-5 by Gimli Man­i­toba’s Kerri Ei­nar­son and lost 9-6 to Jen­nifer Jones of Win­nipeg in the Fri­day af­ter­noon draw.

The losses put Schei­deg­ger at 3-3 while Ei­nar­son and Jones sit atop the stand­ings at 5-1.

Ot­tawa’s Rachel Ho­man is 4-2 and holds onto third place head­ing into the fi­nal round-robin games this morn­ing.

The top-three men’s and women’s teams ad­vance to the play­off round later to­day. The sec­ond and third­place teams play in the semi­fi­nal with the win­ners ad­vanc­ing to Sun­day’s fi­nal against the first-place men’s and women’s teams.

Schei­deg­ger plays Man­i­toba’s Darcy Robert­son (1-5) at 8 a.m. to­day.

Ho­man plays Al­li­son Flaxey (2-4) of Win­nipeg in the same draw.

If nec­es­sary, the men’s tie breaker will be played at 8 a.m. with the women’s tie-breaker slated for 1 p.m.

The men’s semi­fi­nal goes at 1 p.m. with the women to fol­low at 6 p.m.
