The Casey Scheidegger rink has advanced as a C-side qualifier at the Canadian Open in North Battleford on Friday.

Scheidegger and her Lethbridge Curling Club rink of third Cary-Anne McTaggart, second Jessie Haughian and lead Kristie Moore defeated Winnipeg’s Tracy Fleury 6-4 in the triple knockout format to advance from the C-qualifier.

Earlier in the day, Scheidegger was defeated 5-4 by American Nina Roth to fall to the C-side, needing a win over Fleury to stay alive.

Scheidegger faces Ottawa’s Rachel Homan in the quarterfinal at 10:30 a.m. local time. The winner advances to the semifinals at 6 p.m., while the loser is out.
