It can be a grand time, going out with family. Today, Jan. 12, at the downtown Homes Alive from noon until 3 p.m., Lady and her brother Buddy will be seeing the sights and meeting the people. These eight-month-old grey-and-white siblings enjoy new things, each in their own way. Lady, for instance, will let her curiosity lead her where it will. Buddy is more cautious; maybe he will let Lady go first. New humans are fascinating to them, but again, Lady will assume that you’ll love her to pieces. Buddy wants to make sure, so he’ll tap you with a tiny paw for attention. They both love playing, especially with each other or another cat. What they really have in common — call it a family trait — is the devotion they’ll feel to the person who gives them a caring, permanent home. Lady and Buddy don’t have to be adopted together, though youngsters learn from each other, and keep each other company. Find out for yourself today, or call the PAW Society at 403-328-6700 or send an online inquiry at pawsociety.com. Either together or separate, Lady and Buddy may be the family you’ve been seeking.

Cia is a very special girl. Gentle, calm and in excellent health, she is patiently waiting for her furever home. She gets along with other cats and would be content to relax in a window watching the world go by or on your lap for comfort. Cia and her three kittens have been with us for several months in foster care. In fact, she has moved several times between foster homes and immediately adapts to her new home with ease. If you would like to meet Cia, please visit us on Facebook or our website and message us. You can also email us at thelccr@gmail.com. Online: www.thelastchancecatranch.com or www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch. Thank you to everyone who donated returnables to our bottle drive last Saturday. Our bottle drives generate enough revenue to help pay off our high vet bills. Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts.

Tux came to the Humane Society this spring and settled right in. He's friendly and outgoing, gets along with his roommates and with the volunteers of course. Tux especially likes the Catio; he loves the sun and rolling in the dirt! He's very playful and also likes toys. Tux will make a fun addition to his forever home, bringing playfulness and affection. If you are interested in meeting Tux, you can visit him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Available Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

Hydro (left) is an adorable kitten approximately four and a half months old who was found by some kind employees at Fortis. He has since been treated for earmites and vaccinated. Hydro is very playful and affectionate. He gets along great with other cats and dogs and loves his fish video games. Hydro is up for adoption at Petland. Hermione was a transfer from a rescue in Taber. She is very affectionate and would do well as an only cat. The adoption fee for Hydro and Hermione is $225 each which includes first vaccinations, deworming and neuter. Call Linda (403-381-9169) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information. We are also on Facebook. We are always in need of donations to help with our neverending medical bills. Thank you so much to those individuals who have donated.

Hazel is a female 10-year-old chihuahua cross. Hazel is quite friendly with adults and kids but would prefer to be in a single-pet home. She is fearful of other dogs and doesn’t seem to enjoy the company of her foster cat siblings. She’s fantastic on leash and is housetrained. She’s also quiet in the house and is an easy dog to care for. She is deaf but copes quite well. Like many chihuahuas, Hazel hates the cold. Please visit www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-359-3139 for more information.
