LETH­BRIDGE PUB­LIC LI­BRARY – CHILD MIN­DER, READ ON PRO­GRAM VOL­UN­TEERS

LPL’s pro­gram helps adults im­prove their lit­er­acy skills, but some­times find­ing child care while on a lim­ited in­come is very dif­fi­cult, so par­ents have to drop out. LPL needs you on

their team to mind child(ren) while their par­ents are

learn­ing. Child mind­ing takes place at the down­town or The Cross­ings branch. Chil­dren will be be­tween 1-11 years of age, and vol­un­teers would have a max­i­mum of five chil­dren. The li­brary has a vast col­lec­tion of books and toys, for you to use while child mind­ing. You are not re­quired to do pro­gram­ming with the chil­dren, you are sim­ply mind­ing them while their par­ents are learn­ing. In­ter­ested vol­un­teers must be 18 years or older and can con­tact El­iz­abeth Entz at 403-380-7323 for de­tails.

GOOD SAMAR­I­TAN SO­CI­ETY – WEST HIGH­LANDS – CRAFT VOL­UN­TEER Good Samar­i­tan West High­lands is look­ing for vol­un­teers to as­sist res­i­dents with crafts. Vol­un­teers will porter res­i­dents to and from the pro­gram and will as­sist in serv­ing

re­fresh­ments. Vol­un­teers will also help with set up and clean­ing up af­ter the pro­gram. Vol­un­teers must have pa­tience with the var­i­ous abil­i­ties of par­tic­i­pants in the pro­gram. For more de­tails please con­tact Greg Broad­bent at 403-380-6275 ext. 52226.

LETH­BRIDGE FAM­ILY SER­VICES - COM­MU­NITY CON­NEC­TION VOL­UN­TEER PRO­GRAM The Com­mu­nity Con­nec­tion Vol­un­teer Pro­gram (CCVP) needs you! This pro­gram con­nects new­com­ers with the com­mu­nity

through net­work­ing and other ac­tiv­i­ties that sup­port cross­cul­tural aware­ness and in­for­ma­tion lan­guage learn­ing. By match­ing sin­gles or fam­i­lies with vol­un­teers, new­com­ers re­ceive wel­come sup­port dur­ing ini­tial stages of ad­just­ment to their new life in Canada. Work on your own sched­ule and do the ac­tiv­i­ties you en­joy and bring your new­comer friend or fam­ily with you. Ori­en­ta­tion, train­ing and sup­port is pro­vided. LETH­BRIDGE YOUTH FOUN­DA­TION/5TH ON 5TH – PHO­TOG­RA­PHER AND STAR WARS COS­PLAY MODEL

The Leth­bridge Youth Foun­da­tion/5th on 5th is host­ing the 22nd An­nual ‘In­vest­ing in Youth’ Fundrais­ing Cam­paign and vol­un­teers are re­quired on Feb. 2 and 3 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help with the mar­ket­ing cam­paign. Vol­un­teer po­si­tions in­clude a

pho­tog­ra­pher to help take pho­tos for the mar­ket­ing cam­paign and Star Wars cos­play mod­els to par­tic­i­pate in the pho­to­shoot. VOL­UN­TEER LETH­BRIDGE – LEAD­ERS OF TO­MOR­ROW VOL­UN­TEERS

The Lead­ers of To­mor­row Gala is an in­spir­ing and em­pow­er­ing event where Vol­un­teer Leth­bridge rec­og­nizes and cel­e­brates youth in the com­mu­nity who have made a pos­i­tive im­pact through vol­un­teerism. They are ask­ing for your sup­port to help the evening run smoothly. Tasks in­clude wel­com­ing at­ten­dees upon

ar­rival, hand­ing out the evening’s pro­grams, help­ing or­ga­nize the kids al­pha­bet­i­cally be­fore they en­ter the stage, as­sist­ing with set-up & take-down of the event, pho­to­graph the youth with their cer­tifi­cates, as­sist with the reg­is­tra­tion ta­ble, di­rect the kids to the stage and from the stage to the photo area. Other task may be as­signed as needed. CHI­NOOK RE­GIONAL HOSPI­TAL FOUN­DA­TION – CASINO VOL­UN­TEERS

Chi­nook Re­gional Hospi­tal Foun­da­tion is host­ing a Casino on Mon­day, March 18 and Tues­day, March 19 and are look­ing for

vol­un­teers to help in var­i­ous roles. No pre­vi­ous ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing a casino is nec­es­sary. Must be at least 18 years of age. Train­ing and sup­port will be pro­vided by an ex­pe­ri­enced, li­censed casino ad­vi­sor in both the cage and the count room who will train you, sup­port your work, and pro­vide guid­ance. Shift times are 1 p.m.– 8 p.m. and 8 p.m.–4 a.m. Vol­un­teers are able to sign up for one or both days. In­ter­ested vol­un­teers can con­tact Shonna at 403388-6001.
