Liberals name local provincial candidates

Lethbridge candidates have been named by the Alberta Liberals.

Pat Chizek will contest the Lethbridge West riding in this spring’s provincial election, while Devon Hargreaves will run in Lethbridge East. Party leader David Khan announced their selection.

“Pat is a community leader who has devoted her working life as a teacher to educating young Albertans,” Khan says.

A graduate of the University of Alberta, Chizek now referees volleyball and volunteers at the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre.

Hargreaves is past chair of Lethbridge PrideFest, is cofounder of the YQueerL Society for Change and the co-host of a local internet radio show.

Both candidates cite job creation, building the economy and improved access to quality education and cost-effective health care as campaign issues.
