Pandas remain undefeated in league play

Magrath Pandas remained undefeated and improved to 90 with a 71-53 victory over the host Taber W.R. Myers Rebels in Southern Alberta Girls Basketball League play Wednesday.

Jenna Taylor led the Pandas with 20 points and Lauren Payne added 19 while Montana Berezay chipped in with 13.

Kitawna Sparks replied with 12 points for the Rebels and Halle Johnson and Alex Haller added nine apiece.

In junior varsity play, Magrath edged Myers 40-39 as Macie Wocknitz scored 15 points and Thandie Kauro added 10.

Elisa Rios topped Myers with 10 points and Emily Hoyt added nine.

In other action, Medicine Hat Kwahommies rolled to a 115-30 victory over the Winston Churchill Griffins.

Hailee Parker led the Kwahommies attack with 19 points while Kyler Varga and Hannah Salmon added 15 and 14 respective­ly. Emma Wintoniak scored 12 in the win and Jordyn Knight chipped in with 10.

Grace Hatch led the Griffins with six points and Isabel Crown added five.

In JV, Medicine Hat downed Churchill 83-46 behind 20 points from Sharaya Hill while Salmon and Precious Agbaiaka added 15 and 13 respective­ly.

Cayla Stimson replied with 17 for Churchill.
