-

A Claresholm man who was arrested Wednesday on outstanding warrants also faces new charges.

Claresholm RCMP arrested Daniel Derek Morgan on warrants for break and enter and theft. As a result of the arrest, police searched a residence in Claresholm where they recovered stolen property linked to multiple offences in the Claresholm and Stavely areas since December.

RCMP reported they also seized methamphetamine and fentanyl, several weapons and Canadian and U.S. currency.

Morgan, 31, and 22-year-old Kassandra June Villneff of Okotoks, were charged with multiple counts of possession of stolen property, drug possession and possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose. Morgan also faces multiple charges of break and enter and breach of probation.

Police say crime reporting by the community and the availability of video surveillance aided their investigation, and they express appreciation to the individuals who provided information that helped solve the offences.
