Horns basketball team’s quarter-final opponents set

The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men’s and women’s basketball team’s opponents for the Canada West quarter-finals are set.

As it turns out, both Horns teams are headed to the same location as the men’s and women’s teams trek north to Edmonton for the best-ofthree quarter-finals starting Thursday.

On the women’s side, the Pronghorns — fresh off dispatchin­g the Manitoba Bisons 99-60 in their play-in game Friday night at the 1st Choice Savings Centre — take on the third-ranked Pandas.

The Pronghorns lost both their games to the Pandas in the regular season, 68-62 and 68-59 Nov. 16 and 17 in Edmonton.

Meanwhile, the Horns men will clash with the secondseed­ed Golden Bears.

The Pronghorns defeated the Victoria Vikes 98-65 Friday night at the 1st Choice Savings Centre.

The Golden Bears beat the Pronghorns 85-72 and 87-74 Nov. 16 and 17 in Edmonton.
