Case adjourned for pair charged with drug possession
ALERT SEIZED $16,000 WORTH OF DRUGS, CASH IN SEARCH EARLIER IN THE MONTH
A couple of people charged after more than $16,000 worth of drugs and cash were seized during a drug bust earlier this month, made their first court appearance Friday.
John Leroy Hodgson and Susan Lynn Graf attended court in person where they were represented by Legal Aid staff lawyer Brett Carslon. Carlson told court the two accused need Legal Aid assistance and the case was adjourned for a month.
Lethbridge police and ALERT’s Lethbridge organized crime and gang team searched a westside residence Feb. 8 and seized more than $10,500 worth of drugs, nearly $5,500 in cash — proceeds of crime — and a set of brass knuckles.
Drugs seized include 98.8 grams of cocaine, 20.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 11 Oxycodone tablets, 12 tablets of MDMA, and one tablet of LSD.
Police said the investigation only began last month, but they were able to prevent the drugs from hitting the street in a short amount of time.
Graf, 54, is charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and single counts of drug possession, possession of stolen property, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
John Hodgson, 42, is charged with one count of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Both accused are scheduled to return to court Mar. 14.
